Pidgeon Digital logoPidgeon Digital the online version of The Pidgeon Audiovisual collection of illustrated talks by architects and related designers. This continuing archive, to which new talks are being added regularly, is a unique library of contemporary attitudes which will become of priceless value to future generations.

The collection was founded in 1979 by Monica Pidgeon (long-time editor of the influential magazine Architectural Design) so as to be able to hear the actual voices of the designers of buildings and listen to their ideas.

New trial database – SocINDEX with Full Text

SocINDEX with Full Text offers comprehensive coverage of sociology, encompassing all sub-disciplines and closely related areas of study. These include abortion, criminology & criminal justice, demography, ethnic & racial studies, gender studies, marriage & family, political sociology, religion, rural & urban sociology, social development, social psychology, social structure, social work, socio-cultural anthropology, sociological history, sociological research, sociological theory, substance abuse & other addictions, violence and many others.

SocINDEX with Full Text contains abstracts for more than 815 “core” coverage journals from 1895 with full text for 397 title from 1908. In addition, this file provides data mined from more than 630 “priority” coverage journals (150 with full text) as well as from more than 2,840 “selective” coverage journals. This database also includes full text for more than 720 books and monographs, and full text for 6,743 conference papers.

New database – Social Work Abstracts

We have recently subscribed to an important database for Social Work students and researchers.

The Social Work Abstracts database contains more than 45,000 records from social work and other related journals from 1977 to date, on topics such as homelessness, AIDS, child and family welfare, aging, substance abuse, legislation, community organization, and more.
