Some rooms are equipped for rehearsing presentations or group viewing of DVDs, others have whiteboards for group brainstorming.

New trial database – GEM – Global Economic Monitor

The Global Economic Monitor (GEM) is produced by the World Bank’s Prospects Group (DECPG) of the Development Economics Vice-Presidency. GEM provides daily updates of global economic developments, with coverage of high income- as well as developing countries. Daily data is provided for exchange rates, equity markets, interest rates, stripped bond spreads, commodity prices and emerging market bond indices. Monthly data coverage is provided for consumer prices, high-tech market indicators, industrial production and merchandise trade, etc. Quarterly data is available for GDP, current account balances, and budget balances. All data sets are updated each weekday to capture the latest available observations

Network outage affecting Library services – 21 to 22 July

Due to essential maintenance a network outage will occur this weekend, Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd July. This will affect access to all IT services between 6:00am and 10:00am on both days. There may also be some intermittent disruptions to service throughout the weekend.

The following Library services will NOT be available on or off campus,  between 6:00am and 10:00am on both days:

  • Internet Access
  • Email
  • BlackBoard

Power restored at Ourimbah campus

Power has been restored at the Ourimbah campus, and the Library has re-opened.  We apologise for the inconvenience, but it was out of our control.


Ourimbah Campus Library shut – power outage

Due to an unexpected power outage, the Ourimbah Campus Library is closed until further notice. As soon as power has been restored, the Library will re-open.


New trial database – Business Source Complete

Trial available until 10th September 2007.

This is the world’s definitive scholarly business database, providing the leading collection of bibliographic and full text content. As part of the comprehensive coverage offered by this database, indexing and abstracts for the most important scholarly business journals back as far as 1886 are included. In addition to the searchable cited references provided for more than 1,200 journals.

New trial database – EconLit with Full Text

Trial available until 10th September 2007.

The Library currently has a subscription to the EconLit index. This trial to EconLit with Full Text contains all of the indexing available in EconLit, plus full text for more than 400 journals. It provides indexing and full text for articles in all fields of economics, including capital markets, country studies, econometrics, economic forecasting, environmental economics, government regulations, labor economics, monetary theory, urban economics and much more.

New trial database – Education Research Complete

Education Research Complete is the definitive online resource for education research. Topics covered include all levels of education from early childhood to higher education, and all educational specialties, such as multilingual education, health education, and testing.
