The artworks for the Auchmuty Library Foyer are to be installed Tuesday and Wednesday, the 16th and 17th.

“I don’t know about art, but i know what i like”
The “tea” theme is lost on me, however i have attempted to reconcile its meaning.
Is this because the library now encourages tea parties? or is it to commemorate the big shift in attitude towards food in the library? So would it be safe to assume that it would not be frowned upon if a “high tea” complete with cucumber sandwiches, teapots and crazy hats suddenly happened in the area?
Seriuosly though, why not have some sort of changeable artspace instead of fixed art that will very quickly date. Art that features Visual Arts student works or community works that are cycled every few weeks.
What about the plasma screen in the foyer, why not have that feature some of the current film students works when it is not being used running library based info.
This would give the students a feeling of contribution to the space they are studying in and also another reason to come to the library as the scenery would change week to week.
