  1. Rosalind Smith Says:

This is the most useful and important database for early modern scholars – of which there are 4 in the discipline of English, with 4 RHD students in the field at present. We would be over the moon if the library subscribed to it – it would facilitate our research, save expensive reseearch trips, and give us access to the most valuable electronic resource (in terms of scope – it literally contains almost all early modern books published in the period) in our field. We have a concentration of researchers in this field that rivals larger universities (including 2 convenores of an ARC funded network in Early Modern Women’s Writing), but we do not yet have access to the same resources: this would redress that imbalance and strengthen our standing as a national centre in this area.
