I recently requested a book through BONUS for the first time, and I was unaware of the short duration required to pick it up and how long it might take to source. It arrived at the library and I was sent an email on 2/12, but was in Sydney at a conference. The next week I sent an email re my original GetIt request on 8/12 (the day it was due to be picked up) and a reply reminded me that I had changed the request to a BONUS request. When I eventually checked my email a few days later, it had been returned.
Can I suggest that for items that take a few days/weeks to obtain, and that are only available for pickup for a few days, that
1. A return receipt email is sent, and
2. A phone call is made if the email has not been read.
This would save everyone’s time if the process needs to start all over again. Answers via phone are expected within a day, whereas emails (and SMS’s) can take several days even to be delivered, and may not be checked every day. The email return receipt could confirm that the person has been notified.
Thank you for your suggestion.
It has been forwarded to the BONUS administrator at the University of Newcastle Library who will also bring it to the attention of the other libraries which participate in the BONUS scheme.

Sitting here in the Auchmuty Library foyer – trying to study at a computer – but your Library Assistant is busy yapping (loudly!) on the phone (with personal calls!). Not only that, but she does not seem to like people wanting to borrow books (as they are interupting her calls!).
Pretty poor form from!! Especially in the middle of end of Trimester Exam Period!
We regret that you have been disturbed. Staff will be reminded to minimise any phone calls they make.
Thank you for your feedback.

Hello, I was attempting to access an ebook via the databases page and the Ebrary links simply come up with Page Not Found. Not sue what the problem is.
An example link is: http://0-site.ebrary.com.library.newcastle.edu.au/lib/ssssss…etc
The message shown is:
Page not found.
Please verify your URL, the URL entered or pasted is not one we recognize. If you copied and pasted the URL to get here, please double check the format. Make sure all the terms are there and that the URL contains no spaces or return characters and make sure it does not end with punctuation.
You may want to start over by going back to your ebrary home page, for example: http://0-site.ebrary.com.library.newcastle.edu.au/lib/active
Without any details of the book you were trying to access, I think that it is probably no longer available from Ebrary. Unfortunately, publishers sometimes remove their titles from collections like Ebrary, and in these cases there may still be a link in the catalogue for a short time after the book becomes unavailable. We usually update our links weekly, but that still means there will always be times when you may find a link to a book that is no longer available.
