Women and Social Movements in the United States brings together primary documents, books, images, scholarly essays, book reviews, Web site reviews, and teaching tools, all documenting the multiplicity of women’s activism in public life. It includes data and statistics from the publications of local and state commissions on women since 1963, covering a range of issues, employing pamphlets, posters, personal narratives, advice literature, training guides, interviews, and other ephemera that provide snapshots of women’s struggle for equality over time and across regions. A resource for the areas of US History, Women’s Studies, and Sociology.
