City Campus Library and CHIC closed 15-19 February 2017.

The City Campus Library and the CHIC will close at 12 midnight Tuesday 14th February and reopen 8.00am Monday 20th February to allow for important maintenance works on the heritage listed University House building.

All other UON Libraries and Information Commons remain open and you will still be able to access our extensive online collections.

Library help is available via CHAT or email at newcastle.edu.au/library/help-and-information or phone 02 4921 5850 for general library enquiries.

Can I return books to the City Library during the closure?
Unfortunately the returns chute is not available, however items will not incur overdue fines during the closure.

If University House is closed can I still borrow from the library?
No, as the building is closed from the 15th to the 19th February, no one will have access. You can still borrow from any other UON Library.

Can I still study in the CHIC?
No, the building will be closed.  Alternative 24×7 study spaces are available at the Auchmuty and Ourimbah Libraries.

I have an email stating that an item I requested is ready to be picked up at City. What should I do?
Items will be available when the library reopens. Prior to the closure you may also indicate you will pick the item up at another UON Library.

Can I request a book from the City Library?
Yes, however, staff will not be able to process the request until the library reopens on Monday 20th  February.

How do I renew a book I have borrowed from the City Library that is due during the shutdown?
